You have a choice. Future generations are watching.
Dr. Howard Thurman, grandson of an enslaved woman, lays out the options:
I will light Candles this Christmas:Candles of joy despite all sadness,
Candles of hope where despair keeps watch,
Candles of courage for fears ever present
Candles of peace for tempest-tossed days,
Candles of grace to ease heavy burdens,
Candles of love to inspire all my living,
Candles that will burn all the year long.
“Every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism or in the darkness
of destructive selfishness,” declared Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Thank you for choosing light. A light that burns all year long through the work of dreamers in
hard places.
The light shines in the darkness and the darkness does not overcome it.
Let’s keep choosing to take action for a light in every hard place in our generation.
